To start development as an invited collaborator, connect the Answer Cloud MCP to your AI assistant and tell it what you want to change. MCP is the connection that lets your AI work with the sites your account can access.
1. Sign in to the invited workspace#
Use the email address that received the invitation. In Answer Cloud, select the team that invited you and confirm that you can see the intended website.
2. Install or connect the Answer Cloud MCP#
Open MCP setup from the organization's menu. Choose the AI tool you use, such as Codex or Claude Code, and follow its connection instructions. Complete the Answer Cloud sign-in when prompted and approve access to the invited organization. If your assistant is already connected, you can reuse it when it has access to that team.
3. Ask AI to start making updates#
Start a chat with the Answer Cloud connection enabled. Give AI the site's address and describe your first change. For example:
I've accepted an invitation to work
on [website address]. Find that site
through Answer Cloud.
Update the homepage introduction to
[new wording]. Show me a preview
before publishing.
AI should confirm the correct team and site, prepare the change, and help you review it. When you are ready, ask it to publish the reviewed update. You can keep requesting changes in ordinary language; AI handles the technical steps supported by its tools and your permissions.
If the site does not appear#
Check that you accepted the invite with the correct email and authorized the invited organization in the MCP connection. Ask the person who invited you to check your access if needed. The new-site launch guide is for creating a website; continue with the site you were invited to develop.
Optional developer details#
For layout or code changes, AI may need the existing editable project. If it asks, have the site owner share the source project or repository access. CMS content can be edited through MCP where configured and permitted. The hosted update workflow explains source, build, and publishing details for developers; client setup guides cover connection options.
