New standalone websites can start on Free without a credit card. Pro costs USD $20 per month per site and adds ongoing analytics, site search, custom domains, GitHub deployments, and more capacity. Check the intended site's Plan & billing page before buying or relying on an entitlement.
Standalone feature comparison#
| Capability | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Hosted answer.cloud address | Included | Included |
| Direct agent deployment and generated discovery layer | Included | Included |
| AI chat | First 10 published content pages eligible for embeddings | Content within the site's capacity |
| Active CMS pages | 10, including drafts | Within site capacity |
| First-party analytics | First calendar month from site creation | Ongoing |
| Site search | Upgrade required | Included |
| Custom domain and managed HTTPS | Upgrade required | Included |
| GitHub deployments | Upgrade required | Included |
| Static indexing, deployments, artifact size | Free allowances | Higher allowances |
The CMS allowance, static-page ingestion allowance, and chat embedding allowance measure different things. Publishing ten CMS pages does not mean ten additional chat pages remain available. Review the exact units in usage limits.
Check the site rather than the account label#
Each managed standalone site has its own subscription. Upgrading one site does not upgrade another site in the same workspace. Team members use the workspace owner's site entitlement; their personal subscription does not independently change that site's plan.
Existing owners and companion sites retain their established access and billing arrangements. Their feature behavior can differ from the new standalone table. Do not replace an existing subscription or assume a companion becomes standalone Pro by completing an unrelated checkout.
Enterprise capacity and support are arranged with the team. Contact support with the intended number of sites, capacity, and integration needs to discuss the appropriate arrangement.
Understand charges and plan changes#
Standalone Pro currently uses the monthly subscription described above. Usage metering, monthly usage credits, overage charging, usage alerts, and configurable spending limits are not currently available. Confirm the current plan terms in checkout or with the team, especially if a separate offer describes a different commercial arrangement.
When a managed standalone site returns to Free, its existing deployments and domain records remain. Its answer.cloud address stays available, while Pro-only custom-domain routing is disabled. Re-subscribing restores eligible routing. Free analytics does not restart its first-month window when a subscription ends.
To upgrade, manage payment details, or schedule cancellation, follow billing. If a feature unexpectedly requests an upgrade, confirm the site slug and plan before attempting the operation again.
