Write and maintain useful website content

Turn real visitor questions into accurate, useful website pages, then review facts, links, and answers over time using a manageable editorial process.

Reviewed

Useful content answers a real question with facts your organization can stand behind. Use chat questions, support requests, customer interviews, and product changes to decide what to write. Avoid creating many nearly identical pages simply to increase the number of indexed URLs.

Choose a question and an outcome#

Write down the reader's task before drafting. “How do I connect a domain?” is more actionable than “Domains explained” when the reader wants to launch a site. Decide what a successful reader should be able to do, and identify the factual source for each step.

For a business-information page, confirm the current service, eligibility, location, hours, price or quotation process, and contact method. For a technical guide, test the command or setting against the current product. Distinguish an optional recommendation from a requirement.

Draft one complete answer#

Start with the answer or intended result. Follow with prerequisites, steps, an example, and a way to verify success. Include the likely failure that would stop a reader completing the task.

Use specific headings and descriptive links. Link to an existing explanation rather than duplicating a changing policy across several pages. Show code as text in a code block, with example IDs and domains clearly identified. Keep important facts in the public page body so visitors and retrieval systems can read them.

A practical review checklist is:

  • The title matches the question the page answers.
  • The first paragraphs explain the result and who the guide is for.
  • Names, prices, dates, product controls, and limitations match current evidence.
  • Links, images, examples, and downloads work in the published version.
  • The page makes clear when a reader needs support or a different workflow.

AI-generated content still needs this review. Do not present a plausible invented UI label or a guessed limit as a tested instruction.

Publish and test the answer#

Save a draft, preview and publish it, then ask a meaningful site-chat question whose answer is on the page. Check the response and its references. Public rendering, retrieval, and answer generation are distinct checks.

A chat question is evidence of what someone asked on your site. It does not expose their independent conversations with other AI services or prove demand across the entire market.

Keep a small review queue#

Record the page, owner, source of truth, last review, and next review trigger. Prioritize incorrect business facts, broken tasks, and repeated unanswered questions before cosmetic rewrites. When a feature changes, update its main guide and the pages linking to it. Archive obsolete answers deliberately and preserve a route to the replacement where supported.

Continue with conversation review and testing answer quality.
