AEO means Answer Engine Optimization in the context of answer.cloud and AI discovery.

In the context of answer.cloud, **AEO means Answer Engine Optimization**: making useful, accurate information easier to discover and use in AI-assisted answers.

## What the work involves

- Keep business facts, product details, prices, and policies current.
- Publish clear answers in accessible pages with stable URLs.
- Cite reliable sources and distinguish evidence from opinion.
- Check crawler access and relevant search eligibility.
- Measure crawl activity, human referrals, sampled citations, and on-site chat separately.

AEO complements SEO; it does not guarantee a mention or allow a publisher to control a third-party model’s answers. `llms.txt` is a proposed Markdown content guide, not a permission file or a guaranteed indexing mechanism.

The abbreviation AEO also has unrelated uses, including Authorised Economic Operator in customs. Those meanings are separate from this website’s subject.
