# Getting Started: Improve the Information on Your Website

Create accessible, accurate answers and choose the current answer.cloud hosted or companion workflow.

Start with the information customers need: what you offer, whom it serves, pricing or eligibility, limitations, and how to get help. Keep that information current and easy to find in normal page HTML.

## Choose your publishing workflow

Use answer.cloud to host a full Astro website or add an AI companion to a website that stays on its current host. The [setup guide](https://www.answer.cloud/pages/how-to-set-up-your-answer-cloud-answer-engine-hosted/) explains the distinction.

## Keep discovery mechanisms separate

A sitemap lists URLs. Robots.txt expresses preferences to cooperating crawlers. The [llms.txt proposal](https://llmstxt.org/) describes a Markdown guide to useful content; it does not specify which pages must be indexed or excluded.

answer.cloud generates its discovery files and text mirrors during deployment and CMS publication. The current [llms.txt](https://www.answer.cloud/llms.txt) and [sitemap](https://www.answer.cloud/sitemap.xml) are public examples. There is no supported llms.json requirement in this workflow.

## Check outcomes

Verify that important pages return successfully and that the website chat can answer a short question from the intended content. Measure crawler requests, human referrals, and sampled answer citations separately. Read [AEO 101](https://www.answer.cloud/blog/aeo-101-a-beginner-s-guide-to-answer-engine-optimization-hosted/).
