Getting Started: Improve the Information on Your Website

Create accessible, accurate answers and choose the current answer.cloud hosted or companion workflow.

Published

Start with the information customers need: what you offer, whom it serves, pricing or eligibility, limitations, and how to get help. Keep that information current and easy to find in normal page HTML.

Choose your publishing workflow

Use answer.cloud to host a full Astro website or add an AI companion to a website that stays on its current host. The setup guide explains the distinction.

Keep discovery mechanisms separate

A sitemap lists URLs. Robots.txt expresses preferences to cooperating crawlers. The llms.txt proposal describes a Markdown guide to useful content; it does not specify which pages must be indexed or excluded.

answer.cloud generates its discovery files and text mirrors during deployment and CMS publication. The current llms.txt and sitemap are public examples. There is no supported llms.json requirement in this workflow.

Check outcomes

Verify that important pages return successfully and that the website chat can answer a short question from the intended content. Measure crawler requests, human referrals, and sampled answer citations separately. Read AEO 101.
